New Orleans is a unique city and is an ideal place to
celebrate special events!
It offers some of the best food in the world and wonderful
neighborhoods that hold special memories of our growing up and venturing
out.
Have you considered taking your bride or groom back in
time to share the colorful people and the historic neighborhoods that feed
our hospitality industry?
Conversations with recent New Orleans' brides revealed
some very unique uses of these neighborhood treasures:
Bridal Showers and Bridal Teas
Engagement Parties
Rehearsal Dinners
Picture Taking Sessions
Small, intimate Wedding Ceremonies
Headquarters for out-of-town guests.
Dressing Space for Bridesmaids or Groomsmen
Morning After Jazz or Gospel Brunch
Wedding Night Accommodations for the happy couple
Weekend after retreat for the Bride's Parents
Event Coordinators have long known and utilized the first class, personalized
approach evident at smaller, owner-operated B&Bs. Now, the secret is
out!
Many bed and breakfast venues have lovely gardens, long
verandahs, lobbies and entertainment spaces ideal for intimate gatherings
with a homey flair.
The following notes were taken from messages in guest
books at a few New Orleans' B&Bs:
"When we hosted a bridal tea party at your Guest
House, we were blown away
by the special attention we received from you and your
staff. We know that
it was a business arrangement but we felt, while we
were there, that we were
"family" and had been invited into your home."
"The smell of old-fashioned roses, jasmine and angel trumpets will
forever be connected to our memories of our Garden Party at this
lovely historic inn."
"We booked the entire facility to accommodate the groom's family.
It gave them a "space" in which to settle down. In the evenings,
as we gathered with them on the verandah, listened to soft jazz, and sipped
iced tea, we bonded. The shared stories and goodwill set the stage for a
good relationship with my new family.
"The night before the wedding, we had a bridal slumber party at your
Inn. Oh, the laughter, the happy tears and the memories shared among friends
were so precious and absolutely priceless!"
"Thank you for helping to introduce my city to my new friends and
extended family! They absolutely loved traveling by streetcar and being
guided in their search for exciting things to do from "a native."
The shops, off the beaten path restaurants and museums were such a hit!
"
Deborah Oates of Fine Arts International Suites, a B&B
referral service, says that a recent couple, to show their love and appreciation
for the bride's mother and father, booked a suite for them the weekend after
the wedding! They enjoyed a waiter served breakfast on the verandah, a pre-scheduled
in room massage, fresh flowers and a tray of fruit and cheese to welcome
them upon arrival.
In the busy, hustle and bustle world of renewed friendships, wedding planning
and reception organizing, its nice to know that a little serenity and additional
help is available from people who love your city and value your business.
Remember, you can go home again and you can bring your
friends!
